Front Seat Removal/Installation

Front Seat Removal/Installation

For some models: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations LHD, SRS component locations RHD and the precautions and procedures in the SRS section before performing repairs or service.

NOTE

1.Adjust the steering column to the full tilt up, and the full telescopic in position.

2.Slide the seat all the way forward, then remove the seat track end covers (A) from the back of both seat tracks.

Manual/manual height adjustable:

3.Slide the seat to the rear, about halfway so you can access the seat mounting bolts. If equipped with an 8-way power seat, fully raise the seat.

4.If equipped with a side airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before removing the seat.

5.Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).

6.Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the seat belt switch connector (B) on the manual height adjustable seat, the power seat harness connector (C) on the driver's and passenger's power seats, if equipped, the seat heater connector (D) except on the power seat, the side airbag connector (E) on the driver's and passenger's seat, and the OPDS unit connector (F) on the passenger's seat. LHD is shown; RHD is symmetrical.

7.With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.

8.Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
