DESCRIPTION

A111679E01
The O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NC0) detects the rotation speed of the O/D input shaft from the rotation speed of the O/D input shaft from the rotation of the O/D direct clutch drum. Its construction is the same as that of the No. 2 vehicle speed sensor (SP2).
By comparing the O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NC0) signal with the No. 2 vehicle speed sensor (SP2) signal, the TCM detects the shift timing of the gears and controls the engine torque and hydraulic pressure according to various conditions, providing smooth gear shift.

DTC No.
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
P0717/67
  1. All conditions below are detected for 5 sec. or more
    (2 trip detection logic):
    1. Gear changes not being performed
    2. Gear position: 1st, 2nd or 3rd
    3. Transmission input shaft rpm: 300 rpm or less
    4. Transmission output shaft rpm: 500 rpm or more
    5. Park/Neutral position switch: OFF
    6. Shift solenoid valve S1, S2, SL and vehicle speed sensor (SP1) are in operating normally
  1. Open or short in O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NC0) circuit
  2. O/D direct clutch speed sensor (NC0)
  3. TCM

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The input speed sensor (NC0) detects the transmission input shaft speed. The TCM determines the gear shift timing based on a comparison of the input speed sensor (NC0) (input shaft speed) with the output speed sensor (output shaft speed).
When the output shaft speed is higher than the expected value and the input shaft speed is 300 rpm or less while the vehicle is running with the shift lever on D, the TCM will conclude that there is a malfunction in the input speed sensor (NC0). The TCM will illuminate the MIL and set the DTC.
