1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the scuff plate.



3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM LH


5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM RH


6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

  1. Remove the cap nut.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the trim board.



7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



8. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  1. w/ Assist grip:
    Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and pry out the 2 assist grip plugs.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. w/ Assist grip:
    Remove the 2 screws and the assist grip.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips.

  1. Pull the garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws. Then remove the garnish.



9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedures described for the LH side.



10. REMOVE BACK PANEL GARNISH UPPER

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the garnish.



11. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Pull the seat cushion lock hook's release lever in the direction of the arrow, and then disconnect the hook on the front of the seat cushion.

  1. Detach the seat cushion's 2 rear hooks from the vehicle body.

  1. Remove the seat cushion.

13. REMOVE BACK PANEL GARNISH LOWER

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the garnish.



14. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

  1. Lift up the seatback in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 hooks from the vehicle body. Then remove the seatback.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.



15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Single cab:
    Remove the outer belt shoulder anchor.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the seat belt anchor cover.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

  1. Double cab:
    Remove the outer belt shoulder anchor.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

  1. w/o Pretensioner:
    Remove the bolt and seat belt.

  1. w/ Pretensioner:

    1. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

    Remove the outer belt shoulder anchor.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the seat belt anchor cover.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

    Remove the outer belt shoulder anchor.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

    Remove the bolt and seat belt.

    1. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

  1. Detach the claws and remove the trim pocket from the trim board.
