1. REMOVE OUTPUT SHAFT

2. REMOVE PLANETARY OUTPUT SHAFT OIL SEAL RING

3. REMOVE REAR PLANETARY RING GEAR

4. INSPECT NO. 2 ONE-WAY CLUTCH

  1. Hold the planetary gear and turn the one-way clutch inner race. Check that the one-way clutch inner race can be turned freely counterclockwise and locks when turned clockwise.



5. REMOVE NO. 2 ONE-WAY CLUTCH

  1. Remove the inner race from the planetary gear.

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the snap ring.

  1. Remove the one-way clutch with the retainers from the planetary gear.



6. REMOVE NO. 2 PLANETARY CARRIER THRUST WASHER

8. REMOVE REAR PLANETARY FLANGE THRUST NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING

  1. Remove the 2 races and bearing from the planetary ring gear.



9. REMOVE REAR PLANETARY RING GEAR FLANGE

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the snap ring.

  1. Remove the ring gear flange.



10. INSPECT PLANETARY PINION GEAR THRUST CLEARANCE

  1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the thrust clearance.

    Standard clearance:
    0.20 to 0.60 mm (0.0079 to 0.0236 in.)

    Maximum clearance:
    0.65 mm (0.0256 in.)

    If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the planetary gear.
