TAIL GATE > REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



2. REMOVE TAIL GATE SERVICE HOLE COVER

  1. Using a T30 "torx" socket, remove the 10 screws and cover.



3. REMOVE TAIL GATE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the 2 control rods as indicated by the black arrow marks in the illustration.

  1. Remove the 2 screws indicated by the white arrow marks. Then remove the handle.



4. REMOVE TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the control rod.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and lock.



5. REMOVE TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.



6. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the light.



7. REMOVE TAIL GATE STAY ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the 2 screws and link.



8. REMOVE TAIL GATE STAY ASSEMBLY RH
