VANE PUMP (for KD Series Engine) > REMOVAL

NOTICE:
  1. When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
  2. When installing the parts indicated by arrows, coat them with power steering fluid (Click here).



1. REMOVE NO.2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and under cover.



2. REMOVE NO.1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and under cover.



3. REMOVE FRONT SIDE MEMBER TO FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER BRACE

  1. Remove the 8 bolts and crossmember brace.



4. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID


5. DISCONNECT OIL RESERVOIR TO PUMP HOSE

  1. Remove the clamp and disconnect the hose.



6. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY

  1. Using SST, remove the union bolt and disconnect the pressure feed tube from the vane pump.

    SST

  1. Remove the gasket from the pressure feed tube.



7. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and vane pump.

  1. Remove the O-ring.
