1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
  1. Start up the engine.

  1. A/C switch is ON.

  1. Operate the cooler compressor with an engine speed of approximately 1,000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Using SST, discharge the refrigerant gas.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.



3. REMOVE DRIVE BELT

  1. Use the hexagon-shaped part indicated by the arrow in the illustration to move the tensioner pulley downward and decrease the tension in the drive belt. Then remove the drive belt.

    NOTICE:
    When removing the drive belt, do not use the idle pulley's bolt.

    HINT:
    After removing the drive belt, move the tensioner upward to the maximum amount.



4. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose from the compressor.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.



5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose from the compressor.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.



6. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and compressor.
