1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

B085672E02
  1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    1 - 2
    Seat belt is unfastened
    Below 1 Ω
    1 - 2
    Seat belt is fastened
    1 MΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the belt assembly.

2. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR

B089927E02
  1. Measure the resistance of the sensor.

    Standard:
    Condition
    Specified Condition
Apply more than 29 N (3 kgf, 7 lbf) to occupant detection sensor
    100 Ω or lower
    Seat not occupied
    1 MΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the belt assembly.

3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (Passenger Side)

B089938E02
  1. Measure the resistance of the buckle switch.

    HINT:
Before performing the buckle switch check, perform the previous step (inspect occupant detection sensor) to make sure the occupant detection sensor is functioning normally.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    1 - 2
Seat belt is unfastened (Apply more than 147 N (15 kgf, 33 lbf) to occupant detection sensor)
    100 Ω or lower
    (Below 100 Ω)
    1 - 2
Seat belt is fastened (Apply more than 147 N (15 kgf, 33 lbf) to occupant detection sensor)
    1 MΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assembly.

4. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ASSEMBLY

B089939E01
  1. Check the illumination area of the seat belt warning light.

    OK:
    Measurement Condition
    Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) → 3 (IG)
    Battery negative (-) → 2 (SW), 1(GND)
    Illuminates

If the result is not as specified, replace the inner belt assembly.
