FRONT BRAKE (for 4WD) > REMOVAL

HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.



1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.



3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Hold down the spring and remove the 2 pins.

  1. Remove the spring.

    CAUTION:
    Do not remove the 2 pins without holding down the spring. The spring will eject with a force capable of causing injury.



4. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

  1. Remove the 2 disc brake pads.



5. REMOVE FRONT ANTI SQUEAL SHIM KIT

  1. Remove the No.1 and No. 2 shims from each pad.



6. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 1 WHEEL CYLINDER TUBE LH

  1. Using SST, disconnect the tube from the cylinder.

7. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and cylinder.
