1. INSPECT TIRE
  1. Measure the tires for wear and proper inflation pressure.

    Cold tire inflation pressure:

  1. Using a dial indicator, measure the tire runout.

    Tire runout:
    3.0 mm (0.118 in.) or less



2. ROTATE TIRE

  1. Rotate the tires.

    HINT:
    The rotation method is different depending on the type of the vehicle's wheels and spare tire's wheel (see illustration).



3. INSPECT WHEEL BALANCE

  1. Check and adjust the balance of the wheels.

    Imbalance after adjustment:
    Tire Size
    Balance Weight
    195R14C (8PR 106/104S)
    15 g (0.033 lb) or less
    205/70R15C (8PR 106/104S)
    205R16C (8PR 110/108S)
    255/70R15C (112/110S)
    14 g (0.030 lb) or less



4. INSPECT WHEEL BEARING BACKLASH
  1. Inspect the front wheel bearing backlash for 2WD (Click here).

  1. Inspect the front wheel bearing backlash for 4WD (Click here).

  1. Inspect the rear wheel bearing backlash (Click here).



5. INSPECT AXLE HUB DEVIATION
  1. Inspect the front axle hub deviation for 2WD (Click here).

  1. Inspect the front axle hub deviation for 4WD (Click here).

  1. Inspect the rear axle hub deviation (Click here).
