1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


2. ADJUST BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE


3. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque:
152 N*m{ 1,550 kgf*cm , 112 ft.*lbf } for 2WD (steel type)
121 N*m{ 1,234 kgf*cm , 89 ft.*lbf } for 2WD (aluminum type)
105 N*m{ 1,071 kgf*cm , 77 ft.*lbf } for 4WD



4. CHECK PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL

  1. Pull the lever upward with a force of approximately 200 N (20 kgf, 44 lbf) and count the number of clicks.

    OK:
    7 to 9 clicks



5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the hole cover.



6. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL

  1. Remove the lock nut.

  1. Turn the No. 1 wire adjusting nut until the lever travel is correct.

  1. Tighten the lock nut.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{ 51 kgf*cm , 44 in.*lbf }

    HINT:
    If further adjustment is necessary, proceed to the next step.



7. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE TURN BUCKLE

  1. Loosen the lock nut and turn the buckle until the lever travel is correct.

  1. Tighten the lock nut.

    Torque:
    5.0 N*m{ 51 kgf*cm , 44 in.*lbf }



8. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Attach the 4 claws to install the hole cover.
