HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT DISC

C111369E01
  1. Align the matchmarks and install the disc.

    HINT:
When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the disc has the minimum runout.

2. CHECK DISC RUNOUT

C115328
  1. Check the bearing play in the axial direction and check the axle hub runout (Click here).

  1. Temporarily install the disc to the hub with the hub nuts.

  1. Using a dial indicator, measure the disc runout 10.0 mm (0.39 in.) away from the outer edge of the disc.

    Maximum disc runout:
    0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)

If the runout is greater than the maximum, change the installation positions of the disc and axle so that the runout will become minimal. If the runout is greater than the maximum even when the installation positions are changed, grind the disc. If the disc thickness is less than the minimum, replace the disc.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts.

3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
  1. Install the bleeder plug to the cylinder.

    HINT:
The bleeder plug will be tightened to a torque specification in the "bleed air from brake line" procedures.

  1. Install the cap.

4. INSTALL PISTON SEAL
  1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to a new seal.

  1. Install the seal to the cylinder.

5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON

C111371E01
  1. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston and a new cylinder boot.

  1. Install the boot to the piston.

  1. Install the piston (with boot) to the cylinder.

    NOTICE:
Do not forcibly install the piston to the cylinder.

6. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT

C111372E01
  1. Install the boot to the cylinder.

    NOTICE:
Install the boot securely to the grooves of the cylinder and piston.

  1. Using a screwdriver, install the set ring.

    NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the boot.

7. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH

C111362
  1. Install the cylinder mounting with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    117 N*m{ 1,193 kgf*cm , 86 ft.*lbf }

8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE
  1. Install the 4 plates to the mounting.

9. INSTALL FRONT ANTI SQUEAL SHIM KIT

C115337E01
  1. Apply disc brake grease to the both sides of each No. 1 shim.

  1. Install the No. 1 and No. 2 shims to each pad.

    NOTICE:
    1. When replacing worn pad, the shims must be replaced together with the pads.
    2. Install the shims in the correct positions and direction.

  1. Install the pad wear indicator to each pad.

10. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD
  1. Install the 2 disc brake pads to the mounting.

    NOTICE:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surface of the pads and disc.
