FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT > REPLACEMENT

HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
  3. A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (Click here).



1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


2. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD)

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake caliper.

  1. Support the brake caliper securely.



3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD)

  1. Remove the bolt and brake line clamp from the steering knuckle.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake caliper.

  1. Support the brake caliper securely.



4. REMOVE FRONT DISC


5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT

  1. Temporarily install 2 nuts to the hub bolts as shown in the illustration.

  1. Using SST and a screwdriver, remove the hub bolt.

    SST
    09650-17011  



6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT

  1. Temporarily install a plate washer and nut to a new hub bolt as shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a screwdriver to hold the front axle, install a new hub bolt by tightening the nut. Then remove the nut and plate washer.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts from the hub bolts.



7. INSTALL FRONT DISC


8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD)

  1. Install the disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    123 N*m{ 1,254 kgf*cm , 91 ft.*lbf }

  1. Install the brake tube bracket to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

    Torque:
    29 N*m{ 296 kgf*cm , 21 ft.*lbf }



9. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD)

  1. Install the disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    126 N*m{ 1,285 kgf*cm , 93 ft.*lbf }



10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque:
152 N*m{ 1,550 kgf*cm , 112 ft.*lbf } for 2WD (steel type)
121 N*m{ 1,234 kgf*cm , 89 ft.*lbf } for 2WD (aluminum type)
105 N*m{ 1,071 kgf*cm , 77 ft.*lbf } for 4WD
