HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
  3. A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (Click here).



1. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Coat the spline of the inboard joint with differential oil.

  1. Align the shaft splines and tap in the drive shaft with a brass bar and a hammer.

    HINT:
    Whether or not the inboard joint shaft is contacting the pinion shaft can be determined by driving the joint shaft. Check the operating sound and feel of the shaft.

    NOTICE:
    1. Set the snap ring with its open side facing downward.
    2. Be careful not to damage the oil seal.



2. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR

  1. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.

    Torque:
    8.0 N*m{ 82 kgf*cm , 71 in.*lbf }

  1. Connect the 2 clamps.

  1. Install the speed sensor wire harness to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

    Torque:
    13 N*m{ 133 kgf*cm , 10 ft.*lbf }



3. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY WITH ATTACHMENT LH

  1. Install the lower ball joint to the lower suspension arm with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    160 N*m{ 1,632 kgf*cm , 118 ft.*lbf }



4. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Install the tie rod end to the steering knuckle with the nut.

    Torque:
    91 N*m{ 928 kgf*cm , 67 ft.*lbf }

  1. Install a new cotter pin.

    NOTICE:
    If the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned, tighten the nut an additional 60°.



5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT

  1. Install the hub nut.

    Torque:
    235 N*m{ 2,396 kgf*cm , 173 ft.*lbf }

  1. Install the adjusting cap and a new cotter pin.

    NOTICE:
    If the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned, tighten the nut an additional 60°.



6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP


7. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL


8. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL


9. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque:
105 N*m{ 1,071 kgf*cm , 77 ft.*lbf }



10. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

  1. Check ABS speed sensor signal (Click here).
