DESCRIPTION

The front passenger side pretensioner squib circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the front seat outer belt LH. The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met. These DTCs are recorded when a malfunction is detected in the front passenger side pretensioner squib circuit.

HINT:
"Front Pretensioner Squib LH" refers to the front passenger side pretensioner squib.

When one of following conditions is met:
  1. Center airbag sensor assembly receives a short circuit to B+ signal in front passenger side pretensioner squib circuit for 0.5 seconds
  2. Front passenger side pretensioner squib malfunction

2.CHECK CONNECTOR
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Check that the floor wire connector (on the front seat outer belt LH side) is not damaged.

    OK:
    The lock button is not disengaged, or the claw of the lock is not deformed or damaged.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

    Standard voltage:
    Tester connection
    Specified condition
    F20-1 (L+) - Body ground
    Below 1 V
    F20-2 (L-) - Body ground
    Below 1 V

    Before proceeding to the next step, perform the following procedures.
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    HINT:
    Perform the inspection using parts from a normal vehicle.

  1. Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC 74 is not output.

    HINT:
    DTCs other than DTC 74 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B1905 is not output.

    HINT:
    DTCs other than DTC B1905 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    Before proceeding to the next step, perform the following procedures.
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds.

11.CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor.

  1. Using a service wire, connect terminals F21-1 (L+) and F21-2 (L-) of connector C.

    NOTICE:
    1. Twist the end of the service wire in order to insert it into the connector.
    2. Do not forcibly insert the twisted service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B1906, B1907 or B1908 is not output.

    HINT:
    DTCs other than DTC B1906, B1907 or B1908 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

  1. Connect the connector to the front seat outer belt LH.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B1905, B1906, B1907 or B1908 is not output.
