Turn the ignition switch ON.
Measure the voltage of the ECM connector.

Remove the sensor.
Measure the resistance of the sensor.

Disconnect the I4 diesel turbo IAT sensor connector.
Disconnect the E8 ECM connector.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

| E8-28 (E2) - I4-1 | Below 1 Ω |
| E8-20 (THIA) or I4-2 - Body ground | 10 kΩ or higher |
