MEASURE LINE PRESSURE
G020657E01

NOTICE:
  1. Perform the test at the normal operating ATF temperature: 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F).
  2. The line pressure test should always be performed with at least 2 people. One person should observe the condition of the wheels or wheel chocks while the other is performing the test.
  3. Be careful to prevent SST's hose from interfering with the exhaust pipe.
  4. This test must be performed after checking and adjusting the engine.
  5. Perform the test with the A/C OFF.
  6. When conducting the stall test, do not continue more than 10 seconds.

  1. Warm up the ATF.

  2. Lift the vehicle up.

  3. Remove the test plug on the transmission case center right side and connect SST.

    SST
    09992-00095   (09992-00231, 09992-00271)

  4. Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.

  5. Start the engine and check idling speed.

  6. Keep your left foot firmly on the brake pedal and move the shift lever to D.

  7. Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling.

  8. Depress the accelerator pedal as much as possible. Quickly read the highest line pressure reading when the engine speed reaches stall speed.

  9. Perform the measure line pressure test again with the shift lever on R.

    Specified line pressure:
    Condition
    Shift Lever on D
    Shift Lever on R
    Idling
    361 to 421 kPa
    (3.7 to 4.3 kgf/cm2, 53 to 61 psi)
    482 to 562 kPa
    (4.9 to 5.7 kgf/cm2, 70 to 81 psi)
    Stall
    1,320 to 1,420 kPa
    (13.5 to 14.5 kgf/cm2, 191 to 206 psi)
    1,210 to 1,329 kPa
    (12.3 to 13.6 kgf/cm2, 175 to 193 psi)
