MEASURE LINE PRESSURE
G023738E01

NOTICE:
  1. Perform the test at the normal operating ATF temperature: 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F).
  2. The line pressure test should always be performed with at least 2 people. One person should observe the condition of the wheels and wheel chocks while the other is performing the test.
  3. Be careful to prevent SST's hose from interfering with the exhaust pipe.
  4. This test must be performed after checking and adjusting the engine.
  5. Perform the test with the A/C OFF.

  1. Warm up the ATF.

  2. Remove the test plug from the front side of the transmission case and connect SST.

    SST
    09992-00095   (09992-00231, 09992-00271)

  3. Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels.

  4. Start the engine and check idling speed.

  5. Keep your left foot firmly on the brake pedal and move the shift lever to D.

  6. Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling.

  7. Depress the accelerator pedal as much a possible. Quickly read the highest line pressure reading when the engine speed reaches stall speed.

  8. Perform the measure line pressure test again with the shift lever on R.

    Specified line pressure:
    Condition
    Shift Lever on D
    Shift Lever on R
    Idling
    376 to 446 kPa
    (3.8 to 4.5 kgf/cm2, 55 to 65 psi)
    488 to 586 kPa
    (5.0 to 6.0 kgf/cm2, 71 to 85 psi)
    Stall
    1,060 to 1,186 kPa
    (10.8 to 12.1 kgf/cm2, 154 to 172 psi)
    1,435 to 1,745 kPa
    (14.6 to 17.8 kgf/cm2, 208 to 253 psi)
