Code No.B1092: Poor reception of ETACS signal

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If this code is set, there is an open circuit (B1084) or short circuit (B1085) in the wiring harness between the blower switch and the ETACS-ECU.

PROBABLE CAUSE

  • Malfunction of the blower switch
  • Damaged wiring harness or connectors
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the blower system.

(1)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(2)Set the blower switch to the position other than OFF.

Q. Does the blower motor work normally?

Go to Step 2.
Refer to Inspection procedure 2 "Blower fan and motor do not turn ."

STEP 2. Connector check: B-232 ETACS-ECU connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the connector.

STEP 3. Voltage measurement at B-232 ETACS-ECU connector.

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3)Set the blower switch to the position other than OFF.

(4)Measure the voltage between terminal 24 and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between B-232 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.24 and B-114 blower switch connector terminal No.1.

  • Check the blower relay power supply line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Go to Step 6
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 6. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). Repair the CAN bus lines, and then check the diagnosis code.

STEP 7. M.U.T.-III other systems diagnosis code

Check that the ETACS-ECU sets a diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Diagnose the ETACS-ECU. Refer to GROUP 54B, Diagnosis .
Replace the ETACS-ECU
