Code No.U1507: ETACS-ECU transmission error
| caution |
If diagnosis code No.U1507 is set in the ETACS-ECU, diagnose the CAN main bus line.
|
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
The ETACS-ECU communicates with the column switch through the LIN communication line. If there is any trouble in the ETACS-ECU, diagnosis code No.U1507 will be set.
COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
It is suspected that the power supply circuit to the ETACS-ECU is defective, or the ETACS-ECU is defective.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the power supply circuit.
When the ignition switch is at the "LOCK" (OFF) position, check that the functions below work normally.
- Hazard warning lamp
- Central door locking system
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Refer to inspection procedure A-1 "Check the ETACS-ECU battery power supply circuit
."
STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)On completion, check that the diagnosis code is not reset.
|
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the ETACS-ECU. Then perform the variant coding and write the VIN data (Refer to GROUP 00, Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding
).
If the trouble is solved, it is determined that there is an intermittent malfunction such as poor engaged connector(s) or open circuit (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions
).
