Code No.B1742: Malfunction of turn-signal lamp switch


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The ETACS-ECU sets diagnosis code No.B1742 when the turn-signal lamp switch signal is abnormal (right and left side switch turns ON simultaneously).

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list


Check the input signal from the turn-signal lamp switch.
(1)Operate the turn-signal lamp switch (LH).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Refer to Inspection Procedure J-1 "The column switch (lighting and wiper switch) signal is not received ."

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Check if diagnosis code No.B1742 is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the ETACS-ECU. Then perform the variant coding and write the VIN data (Refer to GROUP 00, Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).
