No. B1011, B1012: Ambient Temperature Sensor Circuit Low or High
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
This code is set when the ambient temperature sensor circuit is open or is short.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
- Malfunction of the ambient temperature sensor
- Damaged the wiring harness and connectors
- Malfunction of the combination meter

STEP 1. Check the ambient temperature sensor
|
|
|
Refer to GROUP 55B, Sensors .
|

Is the check result normal?
|
|
|
Go to Step 2.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Replace the ambient temperature sensor.
|
|
|
|
|
|
STEP 2. Connector check: A-17 ambient temperature sensor connector
and B-19 combination meter connector
|

Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector.
|
|
|
STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between A-17 ambient temperature
sensor connector (terminals 1 and 2) and B-19 combination meter connector (terminals 13 and
18).

- Check the input line for open or short circuit.
|

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector B-117, and repair
if necessary.

Go to Step 4.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
|
|
|
Recheck if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
|

Is the diagnosis code set?
|

|
Replace the combination meter, and then perform the variant coding (Refer to GROUP
00, Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).
