COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
This code will be set if a trouble occurs in the internal circuit of the key ring antenna
(basestation).
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Damaged wiring harness or connector.
- Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
- Malfunction of the key ring antenna (basestation)

STEP 1. Connector check: Check key ring antenna B-246 <L.
H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> and ETACS-ECU connector B-232 in good
condition.

Is key ring antenna B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles>
and ETACS-ECU connector B-232 in good condition?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 2. Voltage measurement at key ring antenna connector B-246 <L.
H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles>.
|


|
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side. (2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
|


|
(3)Voltage between key ring antenna connector B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R.
H. drive vehicles> terminal No.4 and body earth
- Check the battery power supply open circuit.
OK: System voltage
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector
B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 4) and ETACS-ECU connector
B-232 (terminal 21).

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check key reminder switch connector B-239 <R.
H. drive vehicles>, and repair if necessary.

Q.
Is the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles>
or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 4) and ETACS-ECU connector B-232 (terminal 21)
in good condition?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector
B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 3) and ETACS-ECU connector
B-232 (terminal 36).

Is the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles>

in good condition?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector
B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 2) and ETACS-ECU connector
B-232 (terminal 44).

or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 2) and ETACS-ECU connector B-232 (terminal 44)
in good condition?
Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector
B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles> or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 1) and ETACS-ECU connector
B-232 (terminal 34).

Is the wiring harness between key ring antenna connector B-246 <L. H. drive vehicles>
or B-239-1 <R. H. drive vehicles> (terminal 1) and ETACS-ECU connector B-232 (terminal 34)
in good condition?
Replace the key ring antenna, and then go to Step 7.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is set?
|
|
|
Confirm that the key ring antenna is normally.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
|
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
|
|
|
Replace the ETACS-ECU, and then go to Step 8.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The procedure is complete.

STEP 8. Check whether the diagnosis code is set?
|

Recheck if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.

(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
|
|
|
