| caution | When the battery cable is disconnected or the combination meter is removed, the fuel gauge learned value will be erased. To let the display unit re-learn it, enter the vehicle speed (by driving the vehicle or entering simulated vehicle speed) and then stop the vehicle. |
| warning | Since the radiator fan rotates during CAN bus line diagnostics, make sure that no one is servicing the engine compartment before diagnosing the CAN bus line. Since the CAN communication stops when diagnosing the CAN bus line, the ETACS-ECU detects the time-out of the engine-ECU, and activates the radiator fan to prevent overheating as fail-safe. |
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to 54C, Troubleshooting
). After diagnosing the CAN bus lines, go to Step 4.
Diagnose the ABS and the TCL/ASC systems. Refer to GROUP 35B, Troubleshooting

. After diagnosing the ABS and the TCL/ASC systems, go to Step 4.
Go to Step 3.| (1)Connect the M.U.T.-III to the diagnosis connector. |
| (2)Use the M.U.T.-III to enter simulated vehicle speed. OK: The speedometer shows that simulated vehicle speed. |
Go to Step 4.
After the combination meter is replaced, then perform the variant coding and write the VIN data (Refer to GROUP 00, Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding
). Then go to Step 4.
