CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER

caution
  • Since the diagnosis code may be stored in the ABS-ECU or the TCL/ASC-ECU when checking the speedometer with speedometer tester, erase the diagnosis code.
  • Do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly during servicing work.
  • For vehicles with TCL/ASC, check that the TCL/ASC indicator lamp in the combination meter has illuminated (TCL/ASC operation stopped) before the test.
1.Check that the current tyre inflation pressures meet the inflation pressure label.

2.Set the vehicle to the speedometer tester, and set the rear wheels to the wheel chocks.

3.To stop operation of TCL/ASC, remove the fusible link box cover, and disconnect the TCL/ASC terminal connected to the fusible link (3). After disconnecting the TCL/ASC terminal, install the fusible link box cover, and wrap the disconnected terminal using tapes for insulation. <Vehicles with TCL/ASC>

4.For prevention of front wheel lateral runout, install the extension fitting on the front towing hook, and install both ends to the anchor plate.

5.For prevention of rear wheel lateral runout and vehicle sudden start, install the chain or wire (the other end of which is tightly fixed on rear towing hook) on the vehicle.
6.Check that the speedometer indicating range is within the standard value or the needle fluctuation is within the limit.
