WEIGHT REDUCTION, HIGH RIGIDITY AND CORROSION PROTECTION
- Application ranges of high tension steel plate, antirust
steel plate, and uneven thickness steel plate have been expanded.
- 12-year anti corrosion assurance due to widely used anti-corrosion steel panels
- Straight frame structure has been adopted.
- Cowl top lower panel and spring house panel are directly joined for higher rigidity.
- Front deck frame upper outer and front pillar connection has been improved by adopting
the upper frame to front pillar brace <1500 MPI-T/C>.

IMPROVEMENTS IN SAFETY
- RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) has been adopted
for the vehicle body, corresponding to Euro NCAP* or equivalent crash test.
*Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program): Crash tests (64 km/h
offset frontal collision, 50 km/h side collision, 50 km/h rear-end collision,
30 km/h pole collision) performed by government (EU major countries) and consumer groups.
- Features a side door beam to boost safety upon side impact.
- Features an inside lock cable on the front door to prevent door locking due to door
deformation upon frontal impact.
- One-touch power window (operative after ignition switch is turned to OFF) has been
installed.
- Water-proof power window switch (windows can be opened even when the vehicle goes
under the water) has been installed.
IMPROVEMENTS IN OPERATION QUALITY
- Privacy glasses have been optionally installed to the
rear door window glass <COLT>, quarter window glass, and tailgate window glass <COLT>.
- When all the doors are locked, driver’s door can be opened using the driver’s
side inside door handle (Override function).
- The central door locking system, which locks/unlocks all the doors and
the tailgate, is adopted.
- Keyless entry system has been adopted.
- The dead lock system has been adopted optionally <RH drive vehicles>.
- The free wheel key cylinder has been adopted <RH drive vehicles>.
IMPROVEMENTS OF PRODUCT PACKAGE AND APPEARANCE
- By improving the engaging sound in the door latch and
striker, the door locking sound has been enhanced.
