Code No.B1720 Flat Battery of the Keyless Entry Transmitter



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the keyless entry transmitter battery is flat, the ETACS-ECU will set diagnosis code No.B1720.

  • Malfunction of the keyless entry transmitter battery
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the transmitter battery.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Replace the keyless entry transmitter battery. Replace the battery, and then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Check if diagnosis code No.B1720 is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the ETACS-ECU. Then perform the variant coding (Refer to GROUP 00, Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).
The procedure is complete.
