1.Check the electric power steering warning lamp illuminates as follows.
- When the ignition switch is turned "ON", the electric power steering warning
lamp illuminates until the engine is started. The lamp extinguishes after the engine is started.

Even if the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (within approximately 0.3 seconds)
again immediately after it is turned to the "LOCK" (OFF) position, the electric power steering
warning lamp does not illuminate.

2.If the lamp does not operate as described above, the electric power steering system
or the combination meter may be defective. Check for diagnosis code, and carry out diagnosis
(Refer to  ). If no diagnosis codes are set, carry out diagnosis
by referring to the electric power steering warning lamp-related inspection items on the trouble symptom
chart (Refer to ).
