REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  • Before removing the steering wheel and driver’s air bag module assembly, refer to GROUP 52B - Service Precautions () and Driver’s Air Bag Module and Clock Spring ().
  • After adjusting the steering angle, always perform calibration to make TCL/ASC-ECU learn the neutral position of the steering wheel sensor (Refer to GROUP 35C, On-vehicle Service - Steering Wheel Sensor Calibration ). <Vehicles with TCL/ASC>
Pre-removal Operation
  • Steering Wheel and Driver’s Air bag Module Assembly Removal (Refer to ).

Post-installation Operation

Removal steps

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

Insert the bolt connecting the steering column assembly with the steering gear into the non-threaded bolt hole.

After installing the clock spring and steering column switch assembly, align the centre position of the clock spring (Refer to GROUP 52B - Driver’s Air Bag Module and Clock Spring ).
