Code No.C1621: Abnormality in G and yaw rate sensor

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnosis Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION

TCL/ASC-ECU automatically recognises the G and yaw rate sensor type via the CAN bus lines. If another type of G and yaw rate sensor is installed after automatic recognition, this code is stored.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

If the G and yaw rate sensor determines that it has a trouble, it sends the diagnostic signal to TCL/ASC-ECU. When TCL/ASC-ECU receives this diagnostic signal, it determines that a malfunction has occurred and sets the diagnosis code.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Another type G and yaw rate sensor installation
  • Malfunction of TCL/ASC-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting .) On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1621 set?

Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. Diagnosis code recheck

Check if diagnosis code No.C1621 is set as a past trouble.

Q. Is the trouble set as a past trouble?

Erase diagnosis code No.C1621.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck after sensor ID erase execution

(1)Erase the sensor ID.
(2)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
(3)Ignition switch: "ON"
(4)Erase the diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1621 set?

Replace the G and yaw rate sensor (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 5. Diagnosis code recheck

(1)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
(2)Ignition switch: "ON"
(3)Erase the diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1621 set?

Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with TCL/ASC-ECU) (Refer to ). Then go to Step 6.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
(3)Ignition switch: "ON"

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1621 set?

Return to Step 1.
This diagnosis is complete.
