REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <4G1>



Pre-removal Operation
  • Air Cleaner Removal (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner ).
  • Battery and Battery Tray Removal (Refer to GROUP 54A, Battery ).
  • Engine Roll Stopper Rod Assembly Removal (Refer to ).
  • Front Exhaust Pipe Removal (Refer to GROUP 15, Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).

Post-installation Operation
  • Front Exhaust Pipe Installation (Refer to GROUP 15, Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).
  • Engine Roll Stopper Rod Assembly Installation (Refer to ).
  • Battery and Battery Tray Installation (Refer to GROUP 54A, Battery ).
  • Air Cleaner Installation (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner ).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS



<<A>> GEARSHIFT CABLE AND SELECT CABLE DISCONNECTION



1.Disconnect the transmission assembly-transmission lever from the ends of the gearshift and select cables.

2.
caution Be careful not to damage the connection of the gearshift and select cables when disconnecting them. Do not reuse gearshift and select cables, if they are damaged.
Release the gearshift and select cables from the transmission-side cable brackets by compressing their locks with a flat-tipped screwdriver.

<<B>> CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


1.With the hose installed, remove the clutch release cylinder assembly from the transmission assembly.
2.Secure the removed clutch release cylinder assembly with cord or rope at a position where they will not interfere with the removal of the engine and transmission assembly.

While supporting the engine and transmission assembly with a garage jack, remove the transmission mount assembly.
