POSITIONING OF SHIFT DRUMS FOR SENSOR - CHANGE

AIM

This function should be performed before changing the drum position sensor to assure the transmission is in the Neutral position.

CONDITIONS

  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Engine: Stop
  • Automated manual transmission control relay: ON
  • Allshift lever position: N (Shift range: neutral)
  • Battery voltage: 9 V or more
  • Transmission assembly or input speed sensor: No malfunction

Before mounting the drum position sensor the sensor itself should be in the Neutral position as well using the procedure below.

Procedure for the change of the Dual Sensor
  1. T/M must be in NEUTRAL position
  2. remove the gearbox mounting
  3. remove the old Dual Sensor and check that the drivers for the rotors are in the position acc, the drawing (orange and green marked) → Verification of the NEUTRAL position
  4. prepare the new dual Sensor acc, the drawing (orange and green marked)
  5. insert two dowel pins Φ 5 x 35 into the both tap holes M6
  6. install the new Dual Sensor with the aid of the both dowel pins
  7. in case of a bigger insertion force than 30 N re-adjust the inner rotor
  8. remove the both dowel pins, insert the bolts M6 x 18 and tighten them 8-10 N·m
  9. Teach-in of the T/M
  10. make a test drive
  11. read the failure memory
