REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <4G1>



Pre-removal Operation
  • Engine Cover Removal (Refer to GROUP 11E, Camshaft and Valve Stem Seal ).
  • Splash Shield (RH) Removal (Refer to GROUP 42, Fender ).
  • A/C Compressor Drive Belt and Alternator Drive Belt Removal (Refer to GROUP 11E, Crankshaft Pulley ).
  • Front Catalytic Converter Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 17, Catalytic Converter ).
  • Front Exhaust Pipe Removal (Refer to GROUP 15, Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).

Post-installation Operation
  • Front Exhaust Pipe Installation (Refer to GROUP 15, Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).
  • Front Catalytic Converter Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 17, Catalytic Converter ).
  • A/C Compressor Drive Belt and Alternator Drive Belt Installation (Refer to GROUP 11E, Crankshaft Pulley ).
  • Drive Belt Tension Check and Adjustment (Refer to GROUP 11E, On-Vehicle Service - Drive Belt Tension Check and Adjustment ).
  • Splash Shield (RH) Installation (Refer to GROUP 42, Fender ).
  • Engine Cover Installation (Refer to GROUP 11E, Camshaft and Valve Stem Seal ).





Removal steps

Front bumper clip (Refer to GROUP 11E, Crankshaft Pulley ).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS



<<A>> CENTRE EXHAUST PIPE REMOVAL


1.Remove the console side cover (RH) (Refer to GROUP 52A, Floor Console Assembly ).

2.Disconnect the oxygen sensor (rear) connector.

3.Remove the centre exhaust pipe and tie it in a place where it will not be a hindrance when removing and installing the alternator assembly.

<<B>> ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL



Remove the alternator assembly from between the front floor and the front axle No.1 crossmember.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

Install the alternator brace nut so that it is in the direction shown.
