Code No. P0460: Fuel Level Sensor System <FFV>

FUNCTION

The engine-ECU receives fuel level signal from Combination meter via the CAN communication.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Conditions

Battery positive voltage is more than 10 V and is less than 16.5 V.
More than 2 seconds have passed since the engine starting sequence was completed.

Judgment Criterion

For 2 seconds, the fuel level received by the combination meter is -63% or less.

or

For 2 seconds, the fuel level received by the combination meter is 110% or more.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Failed fuel tank gauge unit of combination meter.
Failed combination meter
Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Confirm the diagnosis code is set from combination meter.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Perform troubleshooting of combination meter (Refer to GROUP 54A - Combination Meter - Diagnosis Code Chart <COLT> , Diagnosis Code Chart <COLT CZ3> ).

	Go to Step 2 .

STEP 2. Check the fuel level gauge.

Q. Is the indication of fuel level gauge normal?

	Go to Step 3 .

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

	Replace the engine-ECU then perform the variant coding (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).

	Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
