Code No. P1630: Variant Coding Errors

FUNCTION

Based on the vehicle information stored in engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU, perform the proper engine control. This diagnostic code occurs when the vehicle information is not stored properly at engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU replacement although which is stored at the factory before the delivery.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Condition

Ignition switch is "ON" position.

Judgment Criterion

The vehicle information is not stored in engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU, or the wrong vehicle information is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSE

After engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU replacement, the vehicle information is not stored, or the wrong one is stored.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. After perform variant coding, re-check the trouble symptoms
