Code No. P1232: Fail-safe Control System

FUNCTION

To determine whether the fail-safe control can be performed, turn throttle valve control servo relay to "OFF" position for an instant and confirm the power supply to throttle valve control servo circuit can be stopped.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Condition

Ignition switch is "ON" position.

Judgment Criterion

The power supply to throttle valve control servo cannot be shut off although the power supply is stopped.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Failed throttle valve control servo relay circuit
Failed engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Q. Diagnosis code set?

	Inspection chart for diagnosis code (Refer to ).

	Go to Step 2 .

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III actuator test

Item No. 10: Throttle valve control servo

OK: The throttle valve is under the fail-safe control (the throttle valve servo relay OFF position)

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Replace the engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU then perform the variant coding (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).

	Check throttle valve control servo relay circuit malfunction (Refer to Code No. P0657 ).
