Code No. P0513 Immobilizer Malfunction

FUNCTION

To secure the ignition key, engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU sends or receives the signals from ETACS-ECU, engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU through CAN communication

note

If the registered ignition keys are close each other when starting the engine, radio interference may cause this code to be displayed
This code may be displayed when registering the key encrypted code

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Condition

Ignition switch is in "ON" position.

Judgment Criterion

When the communication error between engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU and the ETACS-ECU continues for 4 seconds or more.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Failed immobilizer system
Failed CAN
Failed engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Q. Is diagnosis code related with CAN communication displayed?

	Inspection chart for diagnosis code (Refer to ).

	Go to Step 2 .

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code

Confirm whether the diagnosis codes are output from ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code output?

	Perform the troubleshooting of immobilizer (Refer to GROUP 54A - Ignition switch - Ignition switch - Check Chart for Diagnosis Codes ).

	Replace the engine-ECU or engine-A-M/T-ECU then perform the variant coding (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Variant Coding ).
