REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <135>

caution
  • When the throttle body assembly replacement is performed, idling speed may be unstable because the MPI engine learning is not completed. To make it stable, make the system learn the idling (Refer to GROUP 00, Precautions before Service - Learning Procedure for Idling in MPI Engine ).
  • Do not loosen the fixing screws for the resin cover of throttle body assembly. If the screws are loosened, the sensor incorporated in the resin cover becomes misaligned and the throttle body cannot work normally.
Pre-removal and Post-installation Operation
  • Engine Coolant Draining and Supplying (Refer to GROUP 14, On-vehicle Service - Engine Coolant Replacement ).
  • Air Cleaner and Air Intake Hose Removal and Installation (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner ).

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< THROTTLE BODY GASKET INSTALLATION

Securely insert the throttle body gasket in the groove of the inlet manifold without causing any torsion or damage to the gasket.

>>B<< SCREW INSTALLATION

caution Do not over-tighten. As the self-forming-type screw is used, the excessive torque can damage the inlet manifold threads.

>>C<< INITIALISATION

When the throttle body is installed, removed or replaced, initialise the electronic-controlled throttle valve system according to the procedure below beforehand.
1.Turn the ignition switch from "ON" position to "LOCK" (OFF) position, and then hold "LOCK" (OFF) position for approximately 10 seconds or more.
