GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We establishes 1.5L 4G1-DOHC engines installed in COLT.
The basic development is the similar to 4G1-SOHC engines installed in LANCER.
The main changes from the traditional ones are as follows:

Matches with the super low pollution/fuel efficiency/high performance, in the high level, by adopting Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing & lifting Electronic Control system.
The valve train is changed to DOHC-16 valve from SOHC-16 valve.
Unite the crank angle sensor harness to the timing belt cover.
Adopt the auto tensioner to adjust the timing belt tension.
Adopt the midair camshaft for the camshaft to be more lightweight.
Expand the cooling water room to improve the cooling performance of the cylinder head.
Apply a molybdenum coating to the piston for engine’s low friction.
