REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS



<<A>> FRONT BUMPER CLIP REMOVAL



1.Remove the six front bumper clips shown in the figure.

2.Lift the under cover part of front bumper assembly downward.

<<B>> A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT REMOVAL



1.Loosen the locking nut of the tensioner pulley.
2.
caution To reuse the drive belt, draw an arrow indicating the rotating direction (clockwise) on the back of the belt using chalk, etc.
Turn the adjusting bolt in the anti-clockwise direction (to the left) to remove the drive belt.

<<C>> ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT REMOVAL



1.Loosen the nut for alternator pivot bolt and locking bolt.
2.
caution To reuse the drive belt, draw an arrow indicating the rotating direction (clockwise) on the back of the belt using chalk, etc.
Turn the adjusting bolt in the anti-clockwise direction (to the left) to remove the drive belt.

<<D>> CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CENTRE BOLT REMOVAL


1.Use the used drive belt to fix the crankshaft pulley and loosen the crankshaft pulley centre bolt.

2.
caution
  • Do not use the drive belt set up on the vehicles.
  • Do not use a cracked or damaged drive belt.
Set the used drive belt as shown and hold it with a cable band.

3.Turning the crankshaft pulley to the anti-clockwise direction (to the left), place the used drive belt to the A/C compressor bracket, hold the crankshaft pulley and remove the crankshaft pulley centre bolt.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS



>>A<< CRANKSHAFT PULLEY/CRANKSHAFT PULLEY WASHER/CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CENTRE BOLT INSTALLATION



1.Wipe off the dirt on the crankshaft and the crankshaft pulley as shown in the figure using a rag.
2.Wipe off the dirt on the crankshaft pulley as shown in the figure using a rag, and then degrease the areas.
note Degrease them to prevent drop in the friction coefficient of the pressed area which is caused by oil adhesion.
3.Install the crankshaft pulley.
4.Apply an adequate and minimum amount of engine oil to the thread of the crankshaft pulley centre bolt and the lower area of the flange.
5.Wipe off the dirt on the crankshaft pulley washer as shown in the figure using a rag.

6.Place the crankshaft pulley washer with the groove facing on the bolt side.

caution
  • Do not use the drive belt setup on the vehicles.
  • Do not use a cracked or damaged drive belt.
Set the used drive belt and hold it with a cable band as during removal.

8.Turning the crankshaft pulley assembly to the clockwise direction (to the right), place the used drive belt to the A/C compressor bracket, hold the crankshaft pulley assembly and tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:181 N·m

caution
  • To reuse the drive belt, install it by aligning the arrow mark on the backside of belt marked at the removal with the rotating direction.
  • Check that the notches of notched pulley and notches of drive belt are fit correctly.
