STEERING WHEEL
The steering wheel is designed to improve operability, safety and maintainability and
has the following features:
- Urethane-made 3-spoke type steering wheel and genuine leather-made 3-spoke
type steering wheel has been employed.
- Sporty and thick type grip shape has been adopted.
- Rigid core metal reduces the steering wheel vibration.
- It incorporates an SRS air bag to protect the driver in the event of a frontal collision.
- The air bag module is equipped with an inflator that does not contain sodium azide.
- Optimisation of the air bag specifications reduces the injury risk of the passengers.
POWER STEERING SYSTEM
Electric power steering system has been adopted for all models in order to ensure an optimised
steering feeling.
- Improved fuel consumption by reduction of engine load,
and weight saving by decrease of the number of parts have been achieved with the introduction
of the electric power steering system.
- Electrical power steering system provides easy control at parking speed and proper
feedback at sporty driving.
- 3-spoke type steering wheel integrated with an SRS airbag has been adopted.
- Impact-absorbing mechanism and tilt steering mechanism have been adopted.
- Quick gear ratio of steering gear has been adopted to enhance handling performance. <4G1>
- Low friction material "Teflon layer" has been used in the steering gear yoke bearing
to improve steering neutrality. <4G1>
