Tailgate Lock Cylinder Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1.Remove the tailgate lower trim panel.

2.Disconnect the cylinder switch connector (A) (with cylinder switch) or the cylinder rod (B) (without cylinder switch), and detach it from the tailgate.

With cylinder switch:

3.Remove the bolt securing the lock cylinder (A), then remove the lock cylinder by turning it.

(1.0 kgf·m, 7.2 lbf·ft)B: Bolt, 1Fastener Location

4.Install the lock cylinder in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

  • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly (for some models).
  • Make sure the tailgate opens properly and locks securely.
