Piston, Pin, and Connecting Rod Replacement

Special Tools Required
Piston pin assembly tool set ( 07PAF-0010000)

Pilot collar, O.D. 18 mm ( 07PAF-0010640)

Disassembly

1.	Remove the piston from the cylinder block.

2.	Set the pilot collar (A) the piston pin assembly tool set (B), then adjust the piston pin assembly tool set as shown. A 07PAF-00106401 mm1 mmB 07PAF-0010000

3.	With the embossed mark facing up, place the piston assembly (A) on the special tool (B). Be sure you position the recessed flat on the piston against the lugs on the special tool. ACB 07PAF-0010000E 07PAF-0010640D

4.	Press the pin (C) out with the driver (D), pilot collar (E) and a hydraulic press.

Measure the diameter of the piston pin.

**Piston Pin Diameter:**
Standard (New):	17.997-18.000 mm (0.7085-0.7087 in.)

2.	Zero the dial indicator to the piston pin diameter.

Measure the piston pin-to-piston clearance.

**Piston Pin-to-Piston Clearance:**
Standard (New):	0.010-0.017 mm (0.0004-0.0007 in.)

Check the difference between the piston pin diameter and connecting rod small end diameter.

**Piston Pin-to-Connecting Rod Interference:**
Standard (New):	0.020-0.036 mm (0.0008-0.0014 in.)

1.	Assemble the piston and connecting rod with the embossed marks (A) on the same side. A

2.	Insert the pilot collar (A) into the piston and connecting rod. A 07PAF-0010640BC 07PAF-0010000DE

3.	With the embossed mark facing up, place the piston assembly (B) on the special tool (C). Be sure you position the recessed flat on the piston against the lugs on the base attachment.

4.	Press the pin (D) in with the pin driver (E) and a hydraulic press.
