Front Door Outer Handle Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1.	Raise the glass fully.

2.	Remove these items: Door panel Plastic cover, as necessary

3.	Without Super Locking: Remove the clip, and release the hook(A) from the latch (B), then remove the lock rod protector (C). BCACFastener Location: Clip, 1

4.	With Super Locking: Pull the glass run channel(A) away as necessary,and remove the bolts (B, C), then remove the center lower channel(D). Fastener LocationsB: Bolt, 1C6 x 1.0 mm 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.2 lbf·ft)D6 x 1.0 mm 8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m, 6 lbf·ft)BADC: Bolt, 1

5.	With Super Locking: Remove the screws (A, B), then remove the cylinder switch (C) with the cylinder switch harness bracket (D) from the outer handle protector (E).

With Super Locking: Remove the cylinder switch (A).

-1	Disconnect the cylinder switch connector (B).
-2	Release the harness clips (C).
-3	Remove the bolts, then remove the harness protector (D) from the door.
-4	Pull the switch and harness from inside the door.

7.	Release the retainer clip (A), then remove the lock cylinder (B). Disconnect the cylinder rod (C). ABC

8.	Disconnect the outer handle rod (A), and remove the bolts, then remove the outer handle protector (B) from the outer handle (C). Fastener Locations: Bolt, 2A6 x 1.0 mm 9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.2 lbf·ft)BC

9.	Pull out the outer handle (A) in the numbered sequence, and remove it. (1)(2)A

Install the handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Make sure the cylinder switch harness is routed properly ( for some models).
Make sure the cylinder switch connector is plugged in properly (for some models), and each rod is connected securely.
Make sure the door locks and opens properly.
When installing the lock cylinder, leave the outer door handle bolts loose so the inner protector does not interfere with the lock cylinder, then tighten the handle bolts.
Install the lock cylinder retaining clip on the handle, then install the lock cylinder. Be sure the clip is fully seated in the slot on the lock cylinder.
