Engine Oil Filter Assembly Replacement

  1. Warm up the engine.
  1. Remove the drain plug (A) for drain the engine oil.

  1. Install the drain plug with a new gasket (B).

    The drain plug tighten torque:

78 Nm (8.0 kgf/m, 57.9 lbf/ft)

  1. Refill with the recommended oil (see page 3-2).

    Capacity

4.8 l (5.1 US qt, 4.2 Imp qt) at oil change.

5.0 l (5.3 US qt, 4.4 Imp qt) at oil change.

including filter.

5.75 l (6.1 US qt, 5.1 Imp qt) after engine overhaul.

  1. Run the engine for more than 3 minutes, then check for oil leakage.

  1. Drain the engine coolant.
  1. Disconnect the hoses (A) from oil cooler side.

  1. Remove the oil filter tightening bolt (B) then remove the engine oil filter assembly.
  1. Replace the new gasket for oil filter assembly.
  1. Install the oil filter assembly to the engine block.

    Tightening torque:

110 Nm (11.2 kgf/m, 81 lbf/ft).

  1. Connect the hoses to the oil cooler.
  1. Fill the engine coolant and check leakage.
