Crankshaft and Piston Removal (cont'd)

  1. Remove connecting rod bearing cap (A) from connecting rod.

    NOTE: If the connecting rod lower bearings are to be reinstalled, mark their fitting positions by tagging each bearing with the cylinder number from which it was removed.

  1. Loosen fastening bolts for crankshaft bearing caps in sequence illustrated ((1) - (10)) and remove bearing caps that are marked with the relevant bearing number.

  1. Remove the crankshaft from the cylinder block.
  1. Push the connecting rod with piston and remove the piston and the connecting rod from cylinder block.

    NOTE: Mark, sort, or organise the piston, connecting rod and bearing for assembly to the original location.
