  1. Use a pin hole grinder (A) fitted with a reamer (B) to ream the piston pin hole.

Small end bushing inside diameter:

Standard (New):

27.008 – 27.015 mm

(1.0633 – 1.0636 in.)

Reassembly

  1. Install the piston to the connecting rod. The piston head front mark (A) and the connecting rod front casting mark (B) must be facing the same direction.

  1. Apply a coat of engine oil to the piston pin and the piston pin hole.

  1. Use your fingers to force the piston pin into the piston until it makes contact with the snap ring.

  1. Use your fingers to force the piston pin snap ring into the piston snap ring groove.
  1. Check that the connecting rod moves smoothly on the piston pin.
  1. Use a pair of snap ring pliers to install the piston pin snap ring to the piston.
