- Make the necessary adjustments, repairs and parts. Replace if excessive wear or damage is discovered during inspection.
- Use a straight edge and a feeler gauge to measure the four sides and the two diagonals of the camshaft carrier lower face.

- Replace camshaft carrier if deformed or distorted.
Camshaft carrier lower face warpage:
Standard:
0.05 mm (0.001 in.) or less
- Clean sealing surfaces and remove liquid gasket residue.
- Measure height of camshaft carrier (upper surface to lower surface).
Carrier height (Reference):
Standard:
29.62 mm (1.166 in.)

- Visually inspect the journals, the cams and the camshaft bearing bracket for excessive wear and damage. The camshaft and the camshaft carrier must be replaced if these conditions are discovered during inspection.
- Use a micrometer to measure each camshaft journal diameter in two directions ((X - X) and (Y - Y)). If the measured value is less than the specified limit, the camshaft must be replaced.
Camshaft journal diameter:
Standard:
26.939 – 26.960 mm
(1.0606 – 1.0614 in.)
- Measure the cam height (H) with a micrometer. If the measured value is less than the specified limit, the camshaft must be replaced.
Cam height H:
Standard:
IN:
7.80 mm (0.307 in.)
EX:
7.95 mm (0.312 in.)
Limit:
IN:
7.68 mm (0.302 in.)
EX:
7.77 mm (0.306 in.)

- Mount the camshaft on V-blocks.
