- Put plunger on lower side on the table. Use a circuit tester to inspect the magnetic switch continuity while pushing magnetic switch downward. Touch one probe to the B connector and other probe to the M connector. There should be continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the magnetic switch assembly.
- Inspect the pinion teeth for excessive wear and damage. Rotate the pinion in the drive direction, it should turn smoothly. Rotate the pinion in the opposite direction, the pinion should lock. If there is any abnormality, replace the pinion assembly.
- Visually inspect yoke inside magnet. If there is any damage, replace the yoke assembly.
- Measure the inside diameter of bearing on the gear case. If measurement is more than limit, replace the gear case assembly.
