Oil Seal and Bearing Outer Race Replacement

Special Tools Required

  • Axle shaft oil seal remover 5-8840-0027-0 (J-26941)
  • Sliding hammer 5-8840-0019-0 (J-23907)
  • Bearing outer race installer 5-8840-0008-0 (J-8611-01)
  • Driver handle 5-8840-0007-0 (J-8092)
  • Axle shaft oil seal installer 5-8840-2747-0 (J-38763)
  • Puller bridge 5-8840-0183-0 (J-33367)

Clutch housing side

  1. Remove the differential side bearing outer race (A) using the special tools.

  1. Remove the drive shaft oil seal.
  1. Install the differential side bearing outer race (A) using the special tools.

  1. Install the new drive shaft oil seal (A) using the special tool with a hammer.
